On the Xbox the spec for a controller is separate from the spec for a wheel and the wheel spec simply doesn't include support for extra buttons, even if they're on the controller. Any buttons that are not part of the wheel spec can be supported via a an external SDK, which is what we've chosen to do. Ok, thanks for explaining.

I bought a steering wheel recently (Logitech G920) and I’m wondering how to turn off steering assist in the Forza Horizon games. In the same assist menu you use to turn off every other assist setting. Go into difficulty options and choose simulation steering.
Xbox One Overall experience (good, bad, etc.): Excellent, amazing experience. I set the turning radius to 450 and both FF and vibration to 10. Steering on simulation and only assist on is drive line. There was a learning experience for RWD cars and very sensitive wheel, but besides that it is a blast, increadibly fun. Problems you found if any:
Forza Horizon is an arcade style driving game it does not have the real driving characteristics of a driving simulator like ACC or even the regular Forza series. Therefor it is difficult to drive with a wheel setup as the car is not behaving accurate to the inputs of the wheel.
