Heart rate not working. 3505905 over 1 year ago. I received vivactive 4s as a gift from my company..but the heart rate function is not working..it is just grey with dots on my dial. I tried restarting. It is also in auto state when I go in device settings. I'm not sure why it's not working.

Heart Rate and Elevation Stopped Working. Today, both the heart rate sensor the elevation sensor stopped working. The watch will not detect any heart rate during exercise or at rest, and the elevation sensor most recently showed a gain of over 27,000m during a 1km hike (took about 20 minutes). I have done the factory reset option.

Don't expect the external heart rate monitor to automagically provide HR info - it won't. Choose an activity (running, biking, etc.) and the external HR monitor will work. Weird, I know, but this is what I found.
